GOOD Based on 16 reviews Posted on Google steph Miller The doctors a joke so is the NP Joyce. Don’t matter how many times you explain something to them they don’t understand. Quite a language barrierPosted on Google Ieshia Adams My experience was awful as a new client, joyce was extremely rude and insensitive to my situation. She kept cutting me off and was not listening to me or letting me talk, within the first 3 minutes of the call she told me what she was not going to do and going to do in the middle of me explaining the purpose of my appointment. She was forcefully trying to prescribe me medication to take every day that I specifically said i did not want nor was comfortable doing. I constantly asked for a medication that was PRN as i did not need to take anything daily but she denied me over and over not even listening to me. I am the patient, i know my body, i told her what medication did not work for me and makes my symptoms worse hut yet she still forcefully was prescribing me that same medication. I never experienced something this distasteful before when all i wanted was help and were taking the next steps that the doctor at the emergency room told me to take. I don’t see how she has a license, i would not ever recommend her to anyone. Patients have a right to decide what to put in their body and what not to. In such a vulnerable moment and space i never felt dismissed, unheard or not cared for by any doctor before, this was a firsty and it is heartening. We come to you all for help, and instead the call disconnected and joyce did not reach back out nor come to a solution. I will never book with her or anyone apart of the company. May God bless her soul into being more compassionate, patients come for security and comfort and instead i felt attacked & unheard.Posted on Google Jarron H Dr. Ola has been a great help in getting the support I need to keep working toward my goals while managing different mental roadblocks. He knew the right questions to ask and made the process very manageable. I would recommend him to others.Posted on Google Jennifer Pierce Dr. O truly saved my life. I was experiencing a manic episode and needed emergency care—and he was there without hesitation. His calm, compassionate presence and deep knowledge helped me feel safe and understood during one of the most difficult moments in my life. He took the time to explain my medication options in a way that was clear and easy to understand, which made a huge difference in my recovery. One of the things I appreciate most about this office is the flexibility—virtual visits are available, and the text message system makes it easy to reach out, especially in urgent situations. That kind of accessibility and responsiveness is rare in mental health care. If you’re looking for someone who is not only clinically skilled but also truly cares, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. O. He meets you where you are, and walks with you through the healing process.Posted on Google Joshua M Dr. Ola is extremely unprofessional. At our first meeting he was overtly abrasive and dismissive. Today he cancelled our telehealth appointment (which would typically last about three minutes), rescheduled it twenty minutes before the original meeting was to be held, and then threatened to charge me $80 when I was unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances (apart from those resulting from his cancelling hours earlier). Needless to say, I am finding another psychiatrist.Posted on Google Kayla Taylor I question whether Dr. Ola’s prescribing practices are influenced by pharmaceutical incentives. For context, I hold an MA in Health Communication from Johns Hopkins—I’m not new to the healthcare space. At our first visit, I was diagnosed with depression. I expressed hesitancy about medication and a willingness to try non-pharmaceutical approaches first, since this was a new experience for me. He strongly advised against that and prescribed 10mg of escitalopram “as soon as possible.” I had never taken any prescription meds before and didn’t know what starting doses were typical. I began with half a pill (5mg) and felt mild side effects, so I tried the full 10mg the next day—and immediately had reactions: worsened depression, confusion, nausea. Within 24 hours, I woke up with loss of vision, extreme confusion, I felt like my blood was boiling, and nausea. I ended up in the ER, where I was told to stop the medication. I didn’t blame Dr. Ola for these side effects. When his office opened that morning, I explained what happened, and he advised to stop the medication. Done. For the next week, my confusion persisted, along with EXTREME shortness of breath (I am a dancer), dizziness, and rapid heartrate. After 2 days of this, I called Dr. Ola and explained what I was feeling. He brushed it off as anxiety— stating it was, “extremely unlikely this would happen” and said what I was feeling was just anxiety. This was ridiculous. My depression was new, but I’ve been dealing with anxiety attacks since I was in 2nd grade. This was not that. I later went to Northwestern Immediate Care, where the doctor said 10mg is far from a standard starting dose, especially for someone new to SSRIs. Since then, I’ve consulted multiple professionals who confirmed that Dr. Ola's dosage choice was inappropriate. It took months to recover and return to dancing and I still have dizzy spells I have not had before I took the medication. I am not upset about the reaction—it truly could have happened to anyone. I am upset because Dr. Ola gave me an inappropriate prescription, and was dismissive of my side effects.Posted on Google Kelcie Fraley Posted on Google Levina Kumar Excellent practice with professional, compassionate, knowledgable care - highly recommend!Posted on Google Katarina Mijic-Barisic Great experience with this practice and its owner.Posted on Google Emery Durow
